In a new edition of the QS ranking that measures universities worldwide, the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) once again stood out with five programs among the top 50. In total, 16 Argentine universities are featured in the ranking compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds with 134 appearances, where UBA accounts for 45 of those positions and leads nationally in 42 disciplines. According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), in Latin America, Brazil has 382 ranked programs, while Chile has 214, Mexico has 188, and Colombia has 170. The UBA programs that are in the top 50 and top 100 are Modern Languages (22), Law (34), Petroleum Engineering (35), Anthropology (43), and Art History (ranked 26-50). QS indicated that these changes are due to the progress of other institutions, not a local decline.
